General Shearing 2016

This year’s clip was of the highest quality we have produced. Shearing commenced in mid- May, about six weeks earlier than last year. Due to the prem shearing, the hot dry summer and autumn, staple length averaged 88mm for grown sheep, which suited the requirements of processors. Fibre diameter was also down 1 -1.3 microns. The clip was sold in late June, early July and met with spirited bidding. The entire clip, including oddments, averaged $2,001 per bale or 1,052c/kg greasy. Fleece lines brought up to 80c/kg above their respective micron indictors signifying the excellent quality.
